Olympus IX83 Inverted Fluorescent Microscope

 

The Olympus IX83 Inverted Fluorescent Microscope (Installed June 2014) is an inverted fluorescence microscope equipped with motorized z height adjustment capabilities, a high frame rate (30 fps) ANDOR Xyla camera and long working distance objectives for imaging cells, tissues and materials samples on glass or plastic (i.e. multi-well plates) substrates.

1. Objectives: 2x (air, NA – , WD – , ), 10x (air, NA – 0.3, WD – 10 mm), 20x (air, NA – 0.45, WD – 6.4-7.6 mm), 60x (oil, NA – 1.35, WD – 0.15 mm)
2. Nomarski Optics for 20x and 60x objectives for differential interference contrast imaging (DIC)
3. Long working distance univeral condenser (NA – 0.55, WD – 27 mm)
4. Motorized excitation filterwheel and transmitted light shutter
5. Fluorescence Filters: DAPI, FITC, TRITC, Cy5
6. Metamorph Basic Software and ANDOR Zyla high frame rate sCMOS camera (fps – 30, fov – 2560×2160)
